Wat heb je nodig om een succesvolle webwinkel op te zetten?

What do you need to set up a successful online store?

Did you know that almost 85% of online entrepreneurs fail? Do you know why? Because it is so accessible to everyone. You can become an entrepreneur this way, but becoming a successful entrepreneur is more difficult. In this article you will learn more about what to look for to start a successful online store.

1. Huge willpower and 100% commitment

It clicks so cheesy, but it remains true. Mindset is everything when you want to learn something new. Because in 9 out of 10 cases, you're just super bad in the beginning. You learn while you do. So if it doesn't work the first time, don't give up and just try again. Get help from an expert. And see it as a learning process just like learning to drive a car, in the beginning you think how am I ever going to be able to do this and then you do it without thinking about it. If you remember this and don't expect to make a million on the first day, you'll be fine!

2. Focus on selling

So many new webshop owners spend too long getting the site ready, thinking about legal things, thinking about what they want to sell etc etc. This costs them a lot of time and effort, while you actually don't know anything about it yet. How often do we see that people start with a strong motivation, think about a product for a long time, finally make a choice after months and that this product just doesn't sell at all or that you simply don't understand advertising yourself. Often everyone drops out after this, because they have already put so much effort and time into it and then it completely flops. That is of course not fun.

My advice: TEST TEST TEST, you'll never know anything if you haven't tested it. Sometimes you think "well I've found a great product" and then it doesn't sell for a meter. And sometimes you have a product that you think “who wants this” and that sells like a charm. You can often not know, even if you do get better after years of experience in finding good products. So, don't think too long, get started with advertising and testing as soon as possible!

3. A conversion-oriented website

Conversion-oriented means that your site easily guides visitors to a purchase. To put it simply: a website that works well. You want people to be able to easily scroll through your site and to quickly and effortlessly find the “add to cart” button and then easily check out. An example of this is the “add to cart bar” that we often use for shops. The button remains in sight all the time, so when the visitor even thinks for a second, well let me buy it, then the button is there to receive them! In short, make sure your site is optimized for selling products and not just looking pretty.
